Do We Really Have Free Will?

Welcome to “Here are my thoughts!”.  In this section, I will be rambling about the various things I think about on any given day. Sometimes they are the things that stick in my brain, and other times it’s just a random thought, which all leads to the conclusion that I think I am. Today’s brain dump is free will, you’re welcome.

free will

I have a very close friend who is studying to be a Therapist, which leads to some interesting conversations. This was coming via an expert who says we don’t have free will-well even furthur our environment, experiences, trauma dictate our life and decisions. Makes you go hmm, doesn’t it

My Misconceptions

As a Spiritual Creator on YouTube (tarot) yes, that was a shameless self promotion but i’ll share the link if you’re interested. One of the things I tell my audience is that they always have free will – I am not telling you what to do, and this is guidance, so I had to ask myself, “Do I Believe In Free Will?”  Yes, my grammar is questionable!

Influences

I do believe in free will, but I also see how that is influenced. That is the Empath in me. I see both sides of things. Because of that, we really have to see how much the influences affect our decisions. For one thing, we have to examine somewhat regularly what influences us. How healthy is our environment? Is it hindering how we conduct our lives? Are we dealing with our traumas effectively?

Our influences can also be positive. I believe even though we hate bills, they can lead us towards the right thing, like managing money. The decisions we make with other people in mind, such as spouses or children, don’t hinder us; they lead us toward caring and connection.

free will

Our free will lies in the influences. We do indeed get to choose what influences our lives, and maybe we start there. I am most likely different in that I don’t believe in wrong decisions. I know I know what you are thinking. It’s an opportunity for self-examination, so it will lead you to a better place.

My first marriage is a good example of that because it was not a good relationship, and on first glance, one might say I punished myself, but it led to the greatest loves of my life-my kids. It also showed me how to be self-sufficient because I had to see what a gift it was by having it taken away. The long way around can look like that, but direct us to beautiful destinations.

Hopefully, this will show you some things about your own life you didn’t think about before when it comes to free will!

Blessings,

Heidi
